Portable THC Analysis

Aokin My Control

There is a lot of interest in the use of cannabis or hemp extract for home therapy and medicinal use. As a number of manufacturers start to release cannabis-related products to market, I’m getting a lot of questions about the Aokin FP Analyzer. The FP Analyzer is a portable instrument that can be used for accurate measurement of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). In this short post, I will describe the main features of the instrument.

  1. Physical dimensions of the FP Analyzer: 200 mm x 112 mm x 97 mm (length/width/height) (without cable). Footprint is less than half the size of an A4 paper sheet.
  2. Weight (standalone): 1180 g
  3. Weight with accessories, e.g. power cable etc. 1360 g
  4. Sensitivity / robustness to transport – can it be taken on an aeroplane as:
    1. Cabin luggage?  Yes
    2. Hold luggage?   Yes
  5. What about a transport case? There is currently a transport case, designed for mobile use – see picture below. This is still a work in progress and it is possible that the final result will be to have one case for analysis and a second small case for sample prep.

What Else Can the FP Analyzer Be Used For?

The FP Analyzer can also be used for rapid analysis of the following compounds:

  • Mycotoxins
  • Residues of pesticides, antibiotics, herbicides etc. in foodstuffs
  • Caffeine
