This iodine oxidizer solution is formulated with 0.02 M iodine in a THF/pyridine/water mixture at 89.6:0.4:10 v/v/v, offering a low-pyridine alternative for the oxidation step in oligonucleotide synthesis. The adjusted solvent ratio may be preferred in systems that require minimal pyridine exposure or where improved compatibility with specific synthesis platforms is needed.

As with other oxidation reagents in the phosphoramidite method, this solution is used to convert phosphite triesters to stable phosphate diesters. It is synthesis-grade, pre-mixed, and ready for direct use in both manual and automated systems.
