Azide Gold Nanoparticles
Gold nanoparticles functionalized with azide-terminated polyethylene glycol (PEG). These nanoparticles are supplied as a liquid suspension in PBS. Key product attributes:
- Core diameter range: 4 nm to 100 nm
- Absorbance peak: 520-850 nm
- Shelf life: Greater than 1 year when stored at 4 °C
These nanoparticles can be covalently conjugated to DBCO-containing molecules via click chemistry reactions.
Applications
These Azide Gold Nanoparticles are suitable for many uses; here are three established ones:
-
Click Chemistry Bioconjugation: Attaching biomolecules (e.g. proteins, nucleic acids) modified with DBCO (dibenzocyclooctyne), for preparing conjugates in imaging, diagnostics, or targeted delivery.
-
Optical/Plasmonic Studies: Because of their absorbance peaks in the 520-850 nm range, these nanoparticles can be used in studies involving surface plasmon resonance, light scattering, or sensing.
-
Biomedical Labeling and Detection: The PEG functionalization aids colloidal stability; can be used in diagnostic assays, immunoassays, or as labels for microscopy or biosensing applications.
