Texas Red NHS Ester (single isomer) is an amine-reactive dye ideal for covalently labeling proteins, peptides, oligonucleotides, and other biomolecules containing free amino groups. The NHS ester (N-hydroxysuccinimide ester) moiety reacts efficiently with primary amines under mild conditions to form stable amide bonds.
This reagent is supplied in high purity as a single isomer and lyophilized for long-term storage and consistent reconstitution. Texas Red is a rhodamine-based dye that offers excellent photostability and strong fluorescence in the red region (excitation ~595 nm, emission ~615 nm), making it particularly useful for applications requiring minimal spectral overlap.
Applications include:
-
Fluorescent labeling of antibodies for immunofluorescence
-
Protein labeling for cellular imaging
-
Conjugation to amine-modified oligonucleotides for detection assays
The single-isomer formulation ensures reproducibility and reduces batch-to-batch variability, particularly important in quantitative imaging or high-throughput screening applications.
